About Frida Kahlo Museum

The Frida Kahlo Museum, also called La Casa Azul (The Blue House), is one of Mexico City’s most popular cultural spots. You’ll find it in Coyoacán, a charming neighborhood with cobblestone streets and colonial architecture. This bright blue house is where the famous artist Frida Kahlo was born. She lived here most of her life. Today, the museum gives visitors a close look at Frida’s world—her personal items, her artwork, and the colorful rooms where she lived and painted.

The museum keeps the authentic feel of Frida’s home. You can see her paintings, traditional Mexican dresses, pre-Columbian artifacts, and the studio where she worked. The beautiful garden courtyard is worth exploring. Rooms are filled with personal belongings that tell her story. The museum opens Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Wednesdays have extended hours. Book tickets ahead of time. This place gets crowded, especially on weekends. Long queues are common.

Is There Frida Kahlo Museum Luggage Storage?

The Frida Kahlo Museum doesn’t have lockers or official baggage storage on-site. The building is historic and space is limited inside the house. Because of this, visitors should travel light. Simply book online, drop off your belongings at a nearby partner location, and visit without carrying bags around.
