Lincoln Park Zoo is super easy to get to because it’s not far from some of Chicago’s main ways to travel.

‘L’ Trains: The closest train stops are Fullerton (which is on the Red, Brown, and Purple lines) and Clark/Division (on the Red Line). Both are about a mile walk to the zoo, or you can hop on a quick bus ride. These lines connect you to the whole city and the areas around it.

Union Station & Ogilvie Transportation Center: If you’re coming by train from further out, these are the big stations you’ll arrive at. From either one, you can catch the 151 Sheridan bus. This bus goes right past the zoo, making it a easy journey if you’re coming from the suburbs or other cities.

Getting from Lincoln Park Zoo to downtown Chicago, also called The Loop, is pretty simple with a few good choices.

Bus: This is the most direct public transport. The CTA 151 Sheridan and #156 LaSalle buses stop right outside the zoo on Stockton Drive. They head south straight into The Loop. You’ll get nice views of the lake and Michigan Avenue as you go.

‘L’ Train: If you don’t mind a short walk (about 15-20 minutes) west to the Fullerton station, you can catch the Red and Brown Lines. A train going south will get you to several spots in The Loop really quickly.

Taxi or Rideshare: You can easily get an Uber or Lyft for a direct trip downtown. This is usually the quickest way if it’s not rush hour, but it will cost more.
