This location is only an 8 minute walk from the Greyhound Bus Station! It was very easy to drop off and pick up our bag the next day after our concert. I highly recommend and will be using this location in the future! Thank you!

About Fisherman’s Wharf

Fisherman’s Wharf is one of San Francisco’s most popular waterfront spots. Millions of people visit every year. It sits along the northern shore and has a lively vibe with fresh seafood places, old ships, and street performers everywhere. You can check out Pier 39, where sea lions hang out and make noise all day. There’s also the Hyde Street Pier with vintage boats and the Musée Mécanique, which is basically a really cool old arcade museum.

The views here are pretty great. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and the whole Bay spread out in front of you. Makes for good photos. People come here to try clam chowder served in sourdough bread bowls, buy souvenirs, or take boat tours around the bay. The area is easy to get to and it’s one of the top places in the city for tourists and locals who want food, fun, and a bit of maritime history.

Is There Fisherman’s Wharf Luggage Storage?

Fisherman’s Wharf doesn’t run official lockers or a main baggage storage spot. There isn’t a centralized system managed by the district itself. Some individual shops or attractions might let you store stuff temporarily, but that’s about it. A lot of visitors wonder “does Fisherman’s Wharf have lockers” or “are there lockers at Fisherman’s Wharf.” The short answer is no—traditional locker setups aren’t really available at this busy tourist area.

But you’ve got options nearby. You can use secure luggage storage near Fisherman’s Wharf through services like Qeepl. Major Transit Hubs near Fisherman’s Wharf

Fisherman’s Wharf connects well to several major transit points across San Francisco. Getting around the city from the waterfront is pretty easy.

Powell Street Station is one of the closest big transit centers. It’s over in Union Square. This station handles both BART and Muni Metro lines, including the F-Market heritage streetcar that goes straight to Fisherman’s Wharf. The station links travelers to places all over the Bay Area and gives access to several cable car lines. The famous Powell-Hyde line ends near the wharf. Embarcadero Station is another important hub along the waterfront. It connects to BART services and Muni Metro lines too. From here, you can reach downtown San Francisco, the Financial District, and spots around the region. The station is about a 20-minute walk from Fisherman’s Wharf, or you can take a quick bus ride. It’s a solid choice if you’re exploring the eastern waterfront and beyond.

How to Get to the City Centre From Fisherman’s Wharf?

Getting from Fisherman’s Wharf to downtown San Francisco is easy. You’ve got several ways to do it, depending on what you prefer and your budget.

The Historic Streetcar, or F-Line, gives you a scenic ride from Fisherman’s Wharf straight to Market Street and downtown. These vintage streetcars are colorful and run pretty often during the day. It’s a classic San Francisco experience and connects you to Union Square, the Financial District, and other central spots. Bus services work well too. Several Muni bus lines—like the 8, 30, and 47—go directly from the wharf area to downtown neighborhoods. They run regularly and won’t cost much. Usually takes 15-25 minutes depending on where you’re headed and traffic. Cable cars are another option. The iconic Powell-Hyde cable car line ends near Fisherman’s Wharf and travels through Russian Hill and Nob Hill before hitting Powell Street downtown. It’s slower than the other choices, honestly. But the views are spectacular and it’s a quintessential San Francisco thing to do. Worth the extra time.
